Costs in caring for the uninsured

It costs at least $50 for each patient to be seen in the clinic. This cost includes:

•  Seeing a medical professional
•  Receiving basic pharmaceuticals
•  Laboratory costs for tests
•  Medical supplies utilized
•  Meeting with the chaplain team for need assessments and referrals

Hope Community Health Center is funded only through generous gifts from grants, foundations, donors and businesses. HCHC needs your financial support, so ongoing long-term medical care of the uninsured can occur. Here are ways that you or your business can help!

What your financial donation does (your gifts are tax deductible):

A $50,000 donation would:
•  Pay for 1,000 uninsured patients to receive medical treatment.

A $35,000 donation would do one of the following:
•  Pay rent for the facility for one year.
•  Pay for medical supplies, medicines, and laboratory supplies for one year.

A $25,000 donation would:
•  Pay needed liability insurance for one year.

A $20,000 donation would :
•  Pay for the medical equipment needed to serve patients.

A $15,000 donation would:
•  Pay for all purchased pharmaceuticals for one year.

A $5,000 donation would:
•  Pay 1/3 of the needed outside contracted medical services for one year. (Example: Lab work not able to be completed in clinic, hazardous waste services, oxygen services, etc.)

A $1000 donation would:
•  Pay for 20 people to receive medical treatment.

A $50 per month donation:
•  Pays for treatment for 16 people a year. A patient is charged $15 per visit.
•  HCHC needs 100 $50/month donors.

A $35 per month donation:
•  Pays for treatment for 12 people a year. A patient is charged $15 per visit.
•  HCHC needs 100 - $35/month donors.

Arizona's Working Poor Tax Credits Provide Hope, Health, and Help.

Did you know a tax credit is better than a tax deduction?

An income tax credit directly reduces the amount of income tax paid by offsetting other income tax liabilities.  So, if you have already paid income taxes this year to Arizona you might receive these credits back as a refund.

Arizona Working Poor Charitable Tax Credit This tax credit helps low income children, teens, and families while reducing your state income tax.  This law provides a credit for contributions made to certain qualified charities that provide help to the working poor.  The maximum donation per year available for the credit is $400 for a married couple filing jointly, or $200 for a single person filing individually.

Arizona Private School Tuition Tax Credit The state of  Arizona has saved millions of dollars by not having to bear the cost of educating thousands of students who might otherwise have attended public schools.  The maximum donation per year available for the credit is $1,000 for a married couple filing jointly, or $500 for a single person filing individually.

Public Schools Tax Credit  Schools have a similar tax credit program—this donation is specifically limited to use for extra-curricular activities.  The public school donation is a maximum of $400 for married persons filing jointly and $200 for a single person filing individually.

You are permitted to donate to one, two or all three tax credit opportunities!*
